Carburetor Features Need to Be Reset
Several characteristics indicate that your motor carburetor needs to be reset to improve its performance, which include:
- The carburetor looks very dirty. Dirt that sticks to the carburetor can cause the engine's performance to decrease. So after cleaning, you can reset the carburetor to its ideal state.
- The engine must be started repeatedly to start the motor. If your motor is facing these conditions, this is a sign that the carburetor needs to be reset so that the engine can work immediately when it is first started.
- The engine work falters or experiences a bump when you ride the motor at low RPM. This condition is a sign that the airflow is experiencing problems so the carburetor needs to be reset.
How to Tune the Motor Carburetor
The stages or how to set the motor carburetor are described as follows.
1. Prepare Equipment in the form of a Screwdriver
The motor carburetor has two types of screws. The other screw is to adjust the airflow and the other screw is to adjust the gas flow. Therefore, you need a screwdriver to open and close the screws. The type of screwdriver needed is a min screwdriver.
2. Starting the Motor Engine
To tune the carburetor, the motor must be in the on or on the state. This is so that you can get the right settings for your motorbike. Also, check the condition of the gas flow whether it is smooth or experiencing a tight or stagnant state.
3. Doing Gas Adjustment
The next way to reset the motor carburetor is to make gas adjustments. When your motorbike experiences a crushing condition, which is indicated by the motorbike faltering. Then you can make adjustments to the gas by turning the screws.
The gas screw is adjusted by turning the screw clockwise or to the right using the screwdriver you have prepared at the beginning. When rotated to the right, the gas valve will open more and more which results in a higher motor engine RPM. Check by turning the gas handle/lever on the motor.
4. Closing the Airflow
In addition to gas adjustment, the next step of adjusting the carburetor is air adjustment. You do this by turning the screws using a screwdriver until they are closed. This is so that there is no more air supply to the engine which always causes a stuck condition or stuttering on your motorbike.
5. Unscrewing the Air Screw
Keep in mind, that the motor must be in a powered-on state when the air screw is closed. When the air ducts are closed that is indicated with RPM at the lowest position. Next, you can unscrew the air screw so that the RPM rises again. Try to keep the highest RPM.
If you have trouble reaching the highest RPM, you can turn the screw 2.5 times a turn. If after you turn it, and the RPM is still rising then do another rotation until it reaches the highest RPM.
6. Re-adjusting the gas
To achieve the ideal RPM, you can adjust the motor carburetor by lowering the gas setting. You do this by turning the screws again using a screwdriver towards the left. The most ideal idle RPM standard for motors is around 900 to 1000 RPM.
